Welcome to Philip Morris Australia. Established in 1954 and based in Melbourne, Victoria, we were the first affiliate in the world to produce Philip Morris International brands outside of the United States.
We have a talented, culturally diverse workforce of around 350 people. We believe in being inclusive, flexible and transparent as an organization. This attitude allows our employees to bring our strategy to fruition.
We are working towards a future without cigarettes: a future where adult smokers have access to smoke-free alternatives that are a far better choice than continued smoking.

Workplace Gender Equity Agency – Gender Pay Gap
Philip Morris is committed to creating a work environment that harnesses the diversity of our collective talents and experiences. Equal pay for equal work is a baseline standard for equality. It is important for all employees to be paid equally for equal work regardless of gender. As part of the Workplace Gender Amendment (closing the Gender Pay Gap) Act 2023 and the publication of our gender pay gap, you can read more on our commitment on our Gender Pay Gap – Employer Statement.
Community:
As part of our commitment to contribute to the community, our Workplace Giving Program allows our employees to donate to a number of charity organisations that fund a broad range of causes, including education, animal
welfare, and mental health.
Illicit Tobacco Trade:
Cigarettes are among the most illegally trafficked goods in the world. It’s a global issue and we’re working with the government and other partners in
the public and private sectors to address this problem. Read more about how we’re fighting illicit trade and the latest report on illicit tobacco in Australia.
Environment:
Philip Morris Australia is a member the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO),
a not-for-profit organisation leading the development of a circular economy for packaging in Australia. APCO works with governments, businesses, and other organisations from across Australia’s large and complex packaging value chain to develop
the insights, resources and programs that are needed to build a sustainable national packaging ecosystem. Philip Morris Australia’s 2022 APCO Annual Report and Action Plan is available here.
