Equality in the workplace is a form of our commitment to respect for human rights and protection of labor norms. Equality of access and treatment covers aspects of employment and a person’s career journey from commencing vacancies to retirement.
How do we make this happen?
Sampoerna has established a special department called Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) which is tasked with encouraging and promoting diversity in the workplace and creating an inclusive organization as well as equal opportunity for all our employees.
To improve I&D, the support and participation of all employees and management is needed, to create an inclusive workplace that values shared feelings and aspirations. As a result, everyone is accustomed to diversity and is always supported to give their best performance.
I&D has become a training focus for all Sampoerna employees. Topics such as diversity bias, values, and how to work side by side in a variety of ways have become part of the learning platform. The I&D Department also designs and implements specific plans on communications that are delivered through the company’s means of communications, called Internal Communication, specifically to encourage I&D in the workplace, either general information for gall employee or for engagement with specific groups, including with trade unions.

The number of women who are at the managerial
level, has continued to increase. As per 2022, 33% of managerial position and 50% of Sampoerna’s Board of Directors are filled with women.
